What is Texas Holdem?
Texas Holdem is a popular variation of poker. It is a community card game where each player is dealt two hole cards and then uses those cards in combination with five community cards to make the best five-card poker hand. The game is typically played with anywhere from two to ten players.
Texas Holdem Rule
Texas Hold’em is a community card poker game where each player is dealt two private cards and five community cards are dealt face-up on the “board.” Players combine their two private cards with the five community cards to make the best five-card poker hand.
1. The two players to the left of the dealer put out blind bets (forced bets that must be made before the cards are dealt). The player directly to the left of the dealer puts out the small blind, and the player to his or her left puts out the big blind.
2. The dealer then deals two cards face down to each player.
3. The first round of betting begins with the player to the left of the big blind. This player can either call the big blind, raise, or fold.
4. The dealer then deals three cards face up on the board. This is called the flop.
5. The second round of betting begins with the player to the left of the dealer. This player can either check, bet, or fold.
6. The dealer then deals one more card face up on the board. This is called the turn.
7. The third round of betting begins with the player to the left of the dealer. This player can either check, bet, or fold.
8. The dealer then deals one more card face up on the board. This is called the river.
9. The fourth and final round of betting begins with the player to the left of the dealer. This player can either check, bet, or fold.
10. After the final round of betting, the players remaining in the hand reveal their cards and the player with the best five-card poker hand wins the pot.
